This week, Lara Croft and Tomb Raider, celebrate their 20th anniversary, and things couldn't be more different. This is how video game enthusiasts greeted Tomb Raider: By noticing its central character had tits. "There's a new girl on the block who's making your adventures seem like a cub scout jamboree! Her name's Lara, and she's got a much cuter butt." The article was heralding the Australian arrival of what was one of the biggest Western game releases of 1996, a game that was trumpeted stateside in the August 1996 issue of Sega Saturn Magazine under the headline "Bikini Babes With Guns," despite the fact that no bikinis appear in the game it featured. "Step aside, Indiana Jones," read the Summer 1997 issue of The Official Australian Playstation Magazine.
